(CCSI) have a long history of providing training and technical assistance including the development, implementation and maintenance of social services and faith-based endeavors. CCSI has provided board development, leadership development and volunteer training to assist churches, non-profits and individuals in the search for excellence and execution.  CCSI has developed a Consulting Services that focus on equipping individuals, organizations and communities in developing services and supports for community transformation.

Training and Teaching

Our Founder, Randy Martin, is a dynamic and engaging speaker who has a unique ability to motivate individuals and organizations for successful fulfillment of mission and vision. Randy shares from pulpits and Board Rooms across the nation engaging and challenging for individuals and organizations for success. CCSI has provided training for nonprofits in the following areas: incorporation training, strategic planning, donor development, operations and legal issues, nonprofit tax and liability, organizational development and capacity building training.

Technical Assistance

The staff at Covenant have been in nonprofit and faith-based management for over 20 years. Our team is here to help you through the process of developing a strong nonprofit service component in your community or refining and retooling your organization for future success.

Collaboration and Strategic Alliances

Covenant is a core partner in community transformation in Kern County, California and throughout the nation. Many of our programs and services are part of existing national models or are incubators for future models. Our work with your organization will include resource and partner mapping and exploration through to the development of strategic partnerships and alliances.  CCSI has held classes on networking for nonprofits and also taught business leaders the effectiveness of community-building and networking through collaborative efforts and relationship building.  Multiple seminars have been provided to the general public on an overview of Child Welfare system and how to navigate it for support and services.  Additionally, multiple self-esteem workshops have been held which are geared toward those working with children suffering from child abuse and neglect.

Program Development

This service assists your organization from idea to implementation. Our team will walk with you through the process of organizational development to operational impact and effectiveness.  CCSI has provided program development, program evaluation and design, program funding and program development, and asset mapping.

Church Relations

Working in a faith-based endeavor is very new to some congregations and organizations. To assist ministry start-ups and ventures that will engage the local Church, Covenant has established a church relations consulting component that enlists the nonprofit and the local church for collaboration, partnership and service.

Professional Services and Training

Service Quality

The quality of any system of support is dependent upon continued education and professional training. As such, it is the goal of Covenant Community Services, Inc. to be a service provider of quality training experiences for our volunteers, our staff, our parents, the individuals we serve, and the community at large.

Training Provided

Currently, we provide high-quality informal training to our foster parents, RFKC staff, church leaders, and our therapeutic staff. Often training is conducted by “peer parents” with many years of service or one of our experienced staff from Covenant.However, we also take advantage of the many qualified experts in our community to impart knowledge and understanding regarding the children and families we serve.

RFKC training

The staff and counselors of RFKC receive over 20 hours of training per year in children’s services provision. Topics include child resiliency, abuse and neglect awareness, building self-esteem, behavior management techniques, understanding families, attachment disorders, and much more.

Covenant Foster Care Foster Parent Training

Our Covenant Foster Care office has a lending library of tapes, videos, and books that are offered to parents for training and enrichment. Additionally, Covenant provides formal training on foster parenting issues such as confidentiality, value conflicts, record keeping, active listening, and general child abuse and neglect training.

Faith-Based Training and Support

The Covenant team is available to provide training and education in the area of parenting skills, case management, anger management, grief, starting a support group, establishing a faith-based ministry, and other related topics to the field of child welfare as related to the church and other faith-based ministries.
